JENNY DRAI grew up near Chicago and as an adult has lived all over the place. After receiving her undergraduate degree in German language and literature, she spent the next two years living in Munich, first working as an Au Pair and cleaning woman, then at the airport. Her poetry appears or is forthcoming in Spittoon, Spork, American Letters and Commentary, The Volta, Parthenon West Review, Handsome, Court Green, and H_ngm_n, among other journals, as well as in the Calaveras chapbook series and "phrases/fragments: an anthology" (Sustenance Press). She has been a finalist in both the Sawtooth Prize from Ahsahta Press and the Subito Press Book Award. Her MFA is from Saint Mary's College of California. She currently lives in Oxnard, California, and has recently finished a novel about kung fu, polar bears, Jesus, and Gilgamesh.
